Dr. Dougherty received her BA in Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University. She went on to obtain her M.S. and her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from The Pennsylvania State University, as well. She completed a clinical internship at Albany Psychology Internship Consortium and a one-year post-doctoral fellowship at Albany Medical Center/Albany Medical College, working in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Dougherty then spent several years working at the Syracuse VA Medical Center, first working as a clinical psychologist in the general Outpatient Mental Health clinic and Substance Treatment Service and later in the Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Clinic. She ultimately spent three years as the Behavioral Health Careline Manger, with responsibilities including oversight of the Syracuse VA’s various inpatient and outpatient multidisciplinary behavioral healthcare teams. She returned to Pennsylvania in 2015. She currently works with adult clients on a wide range of issues, including mood disorders and difficulties managing interpersonal relationships. She has a particular interest in anxiety disorders. She is currently licensed to practice in both Pennsylvania and New York. She is a member of the American Psychological Association.
