Mary A. Boutselis, Ph.D.

Mary BoutselisDr. Boutselis received her B.A. in biology from Kenyon College and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern California. She completed a pre-doctoral internship in rural and community mental health in Kenai, Alaska and a post-doctoral fellowship in geropsychology at the Philadelphia Geriatric Center. Dr. Boutselis was the Assistant Director of the Psychological Clinic and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Pennsylvania State University from 1988-1996 and 2004-2007. While at Penn State, she served as a protocol therapist for NIMH-funded treatment outcome studies in the areas of Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder with Agoraphobia. She is licensed to practice psychology in Pennsylvania, and in 2013 she became certified as a Spiritual Director through Oasis Ministries. Dr. Boutselis maintains special interests in anxiety and mood disorders, the interface between spirituality and psychotherapy and the incorporation of mindfulness in psychotherapy.
